Hello, my name is Sabi Datoo-Lalji and I'm a Freelance Fashion Editor & Brand Consultant by day, and zen-chaser by night.

Hi there, and welcome to my blog. The aim with this digital space is to bring you suggestions on finding zen in this addictive and fast-paced city called New York. Having been born and raised in London, I’m a natural at navigating around a firework of a city, and have grown to know how important it is to find serenity and tranquility between work and life.

After working in the fashion industry for over 7 years, I took the plunge to study to be a Yoga teacher part-time, as the one thing I craved for the most was a balanced life, and yoga gave that to me. After receiving my certification, I managed to make both careers work in unison. However, between the glamor of fashion and the excitement of teaching I was still looking for day to day escapes and hideaways I could relax in, even if it was just for 30 minutes. It was on a cold, London train platform that the idea of this blog was born, and with the plan of moving across the pond already in motion, the idea was swiftly executed upon arrival in New York City.

The purpose of this site is to be an enabler for people who work hard and hustle harder. For people who need some down-time, or alternatives but don't know where to go. Another important reason is to give people suggestions on where they can enjoy the simple things like shopping, manicures, etc without feeling like they are on a conveyer belt being rushed through, what should be, some of life's most joyous experiences.

Here you’ll find ways to escape the hustle and bustle while still being in it, resulting in you having a bit of zen and a whole lot of City.
